a life + style blog

about me

*Update- I’ve password protected most older posts, as I am suddenly feeling the vulnerability hangover of having three years of my life broadcast on the Internet.  I have zero skeletons, and I’m always an open book, but as I get to know new people in “real life,” I want to forge those relationships organically. If you want to read more, message me and I’m happy to give you the password.

the blog

key + arrow is a life + style blog aiming to inspire readers to make the most of what they have today without compromising quality or settling for less than desired {all while the author convinces herself}.

the philosophy behind key + arrow considers the artful balance between living in the moment & dreaming big for the future to find happiness.  she is currently making mistakes in austin, tx.

meet lauren

a hopeless {or hopeful} romantic and relentless dreamer with “champagne tastes on a beer budget,” she decided she feels her best when her head is out of the clouds & relishing the present moment, making the most of what her current circumstance has to offer, & finding the beauty in what is already in front of her {+ a tad more accessible}.

creative writer /  language arts educator / thinker / dreamer / mover / shaker

fun facts

food addictions: anything that goes with an avocado, a fried egg, or hot sauce.  all three is a bonus.

go-to drink: pinot noir, whiskey/bourbon

guilty pleasures: dancing to michael jackson songs when they come on . . . whenever, wherever.

pet-peeves: bullies, food smackers, & loud phone-talkers

celebrity crush: cary grant

what’s rotating on her record player: howlin’ wolf, junior kimbrough, led zeppelin, etta james

bad habits: perfectionism, messy eating {which seems like such an oxymoron}, and being ironic

  4. Hi! Glad I stumbled upon your blog! You’ve got a very well-done “about” page as well. I totally relate to the “loud phone-talkers.” 😛 You got another follower!

  8. Great page! We share the go-to drink, celebrity crushes and bad habits 🙂 love your posts, too, especially the one about online dating!

  9. What a cleverly-fashioned ‘About’! I was once a graphic designer but found painting/drawing to be a better fit. I love Cary Grant especially portraying Dudley in The Bishop’s Wife (one of my all time favorite movies) and my sixteen-year-old daughter adores Christian Bale. Very cool blogo design. You are a couple who knows what they’re doing…great blog. I look forward to visiting again.

  10. We love the concept of 7 for seven – we will have to give it a whirl next week! Mondays are struggle street for us… so maybe this will make it easier!
